From tomorrow, 1st May 2020, VAT will no longer be charged on ebooks in the UK. Until now, the sales tax applied to ebooks sold in Britain but not to physical books.

The government had been planning to remove VAT from ebooks in 2021, but the Chancellor has brought forward the measure due to the pandemic, according to the Guardian.

The decision also applies to online newspaper subscriptions.
